Surprise, Surprise!

Our new little furry one has had the first trip to the vet.  The fe-Luke test was negative.  Distemper, upper respiratory and rabies vaccines were given.

And just to make sure, we asked the vet to check under the tail.
Sissy is not the new little sister of the group after all.  She is a HE!  LOL!!!  A HE shrouded in a lot of fluffy fur.
So he has been re-named Reggie.

Who would think with such a cute little delicate face, he would be a tomcat.  He's also younger than we thought.  Only about four months old instead of the five or six we suspected.  When we checked his teeth, we discovered he still has his baby teeth.  They usually are replaced by the permanent ones around four months.  The vet said he was big for his age, maybe because of Maine Coon parentage.

Or maybe he has some monkey in him.  What is with cats and wanting to climb to the top of doors???

Reggie and Penny formed a bond right away.  Penny loves anyone she can play with so they were off and running!

Isabel has been confined to our bedroom due to some issues with her incision.  I think she was a bit overactive and caused a fluid lump to form along her scar line.  The vet said to keep her quiet for a few days (NOT EASY!!!) and gave us some antibiotics.  Guess what?  She hates being quiet AND taking pills!  Two strikes and we are OUT!  She's a tricky little thing.
Deiter has been keeping her company.

Tipper just sits calmly by the woodstove and watches all the craziness.

 She's such a good girl!

  1. Well Pat, it seems that you now have a full house. I must say Reggie is as cute as can be and I'm so glad he gets along with Penny. Poor Izzy, missing all the fun. Hope they are "romping away" very shortly. Sould keep you and Zip busy!!!

  2. Pat ~
How funny - she's a he! What a great picture on top of the door. All those furbabies are sure to keep you and zip young!
    Pug hugs :)

  3. that is funny! I have never seen a cat on a door like that. I hope your other kitty is fine.
    have a great night

  4. Oh Pat - Deiter has a brother - now he's not the only boy in the house of girls (well besides Zip!) Too cute - Reggies adorable! So happy everyone is getting along so far and very happy he passed all his tests! I'm so jealous of the fun at your house!

Riley insists on being on top of doors all the time too - drives me nuts! LOL

  5. How funny Pat! I do think he looks more like a Reggie than a Sissy! Glad everyone is getting along and getting good health reports! What a house full of fun and love! I'll be waiting for a group photo one of these days! LOL Have a great weekend!

  6. Hi Pat
It's funny you mention maine coon, I did think that he looked a bit wide around the head, you know, fluffy sides. I think he will grow up into a beautful cat.
sorry to hear that izzy has a bit of a problem but I am sure the antibiotics will sort it out. I remember when kitty had hers done, she pulled some of the stitches out and had to have a repair job done, then into a collar poor little thing. I will post a picture of her in her collar.
Bet its bedlam in your house at the moment, but I also bet you are loving it....

  7. Oh my! What a surprise!!! Reggie is a good name to! Sounds like there is never a dull moment over there!

  8. Such pretty GUYS and gals.
I love the black red and white cat rug on your sidebar. It is wonderful.

  9. What a tricky little scamp Reggie is making everyone think he was a Regina - LOL! I'm glad all his tests at the vet went well, I'm always holding my breath for the FIV/FeLV and so relieved when it comes back negative. I hope Isabel's incision gets better soon :-)

I love it when kitties door-walk. Archie used to do it at our house when he was younger but has stopped now. He grew into such a big mancat that maybe he can't get up there anymore.

  10. I love the pictures of you kitties!!!

Yep, I think you're right I think I remember a big sign that said somthing like " five and dime" and they were sure fun.

Cold and windy here too. Winter is just around the corner.

I'm not sure what the belt buckle is made out of. Its very light weight.

  11. Oh my, that is too funny. "Reggie" is a great new name. But how in earth did he get up on the top of the door??
I hope Isabel behaves and takes her meds.

  12. Enjoying your photos of cats and projects--glad to read that we aren't the only ones who get suckered into adopting stray waifs.

  13. Hi Pat,

What a story and how cute! What would we do with pets I ask? Now I have to say I have never seen a cat on a door..TOO funny! I bet your house will be interesting when you put a Christmas tree up! ha! Blessings to you and your family through the season...
