Happy Friday!

My Hook, Hand and Heart logo piece is almost finished. I still have half the binding to do and I think I'm going to run out of wool yarn! Yuck!! Well, back to the dyepot for about another yard....

Yesterday was my birthday. It turned out to be a good day with family and friends. My dear friend, Linda, at Grant Street Woolworks gifted me with a lovely notebook to put my recipes in and a 'Girlfriends' inspirational book. My sister and Mom came to visit at lunch time. There was no cake since I have gone back on the Weight Watchers plan on Jan. 1, and have been doing really well. Twenty-five pounds gone!!! Horay! My dear husband called all over town trying to find me a fat-free cake. No Luck!!! My dear son, Brad, and Kami (love her!) his wife gave me a lovely picture of them in their 1940's attire. They are World War 2 re-enactors.

Tonight Zip (DH). Brad, Kami, and grand-daughter Emily are all going out to eat to celebrate. I'll be good and make healthy choices!

I ususlly don't work on Friday, but today we are having visitors at the Woolworks. It should be fun!

Think Spring!

It is still COLD here in south central PA, but the sun is shining and there is the Promise of warmer days to come!

Sophie has been sitting on the windowsill watching the squirrels skittering around in the trees. Earlier there was a pair of doves kissing and grooming each other. Soon the nesting will begin!

My husband and I are eagerly awaiting the day when we can start tilling the garden. This is his first summer of retirement so we are hoping to have a nice neat plot this year. Unlike the weedy ones we've had in the past when we both were working. The garden was my inspiration for the Leaping Rabbits mat that I just finished.

It is done in browns, greens, rusty orange, and a tea-dyed tan on Scottish burlap. Finished size is 11 x 21 inches. It is an easy piece for a beginner.

Here are a few other designs that are in the mood for Spring:

Chicken Yard (c) 2008 23 x 42 inches

Lamb Frolic (c) 2008 24 x 35 inches

Madeline and Mosey (c) 2998 by Linda Keller
23 x 33 inches

These designs (and more!) are available on your chouce of backing: monk's cloth, primative burlap, Scottish burlap, or linen from Grant Street Woolworks in Chambersburg, PA. You may contact Linda Keller by e-mailing to gswoolworks@yahoo.com.

Hello! and Welcome....

You are cordially invited into my home and my life as a craftsman and designer. I hope you enjoy your visit.

This has been a good day of rughooking, cooking, and just generally being off work. I am working on a wall hanging that will be my design logo. You can see it in progress in my blog header. The rug pictured to the left is my star rug that I completed several years ago.

Over the next few weeks I hope to get more pictures of my completed rugs posted here. Unfortunately I can think up designs a lot faster than I can hook them! LOL!!! I will also be posting drawings of designs that I am working on for you to comment on.
