Thank You, Blogger Friends!!!

Zip and I would like to express our heart-felt thanks to all of you for your concern over his recent health problems.  He's doing MUCH better!

Zip read every one of your kind comments.  He sincerely thanks all of you.
He also would like to thank you for the excellent suggestions and encouragement for quitting smoking.

He has cut way back on the caffeine by mixing regular coffee with two thirds decaf and hasn't had any negative side effects.  He's not smoking, at least not that I have SEEN.  I have to TRUST that he will do what is best for his health and not be a NAG!  His family doctor seems to think he has the motivation to quit without medication.

With just a few days of changes, his pulse is already skipping fewer beats.  The doctor has asked that he wear a 24-hour heart monitor tomorrow to rule out any other problems.

My stress relief during all of this has been working on my rug.  (NOT eating!!!)
The blue really shows up bright in the picture!  I may have to tone it down a bit.

I usually work inside at the kitchen table where I THINK the light is good.  But does it ever make a difference when I take the piece outside and see it in natural light!  I know my eyesight isn't the greatest any more, but I can't believe it makes that much difference in the way I see the color.

I've fallen behind in leaving comments this week.  I am sorry!!!
I have been READING your blogs and hope to spend some time going back and commenting later today.

Thanks for stopping by!
I sincerely appreciate all of my Blogger Friends!!!

  1. Hi Pat
Isn't it funny how knowing someone through a blog and never being likely to actually meet them in the flesh has such an effect on us.
I really was concerned for you both and you were on my mind even thought so many miles seperate us.
I'm so glad you are both more settled now.
Sometimes it takes a scare to give us motivation to do something doesn't it.
By the way, I like the blue, but then as you know I like bright colours.
    Keep well

  3. So happy to hear that everything is turning out ok after your scare. I quit smoking years ago and can tell you it is one of the hardest things I've done....even when I knew it was for my health. I'm sending out positive thoughts that your Zip can stand strong and make it through.

I'm so glad to hear Zip is doing better and he will be wearing the heart monitor to rule out any other problems. Sometimes it takes a health related scare to make some changes.
Your rug is wonderful!!! If the blue really is that bright, I agree that you could tone it down a bit, but it is so hard to capture the true colors in a rug.
Sending big hugs to you and Zip :)

  5. Glad to hear that Zip is doing better. I'm glad the part high test coffee and decaf are doing the trick. Continued good thoughts for him as he tackles the smoking issue!

You rug is fabulous. I just love your work. The blue is nice from my end...

Hope you can go into a relaxing week!

  6. So glad to hear Zip is doing better. I have never smoked, but trying to get my son to quit, I can understand how difficult it must be to do so. Very stressful for you though. The hooking obviously helps, cause the sheep pull toy rug looks very peaceful, but I see what you mean about the blue. Still, love all of your work! Becky

  7. Glad to hear that Zip is doing better and attempting to follow the docs orders! Maybe you can put his little lovebug Penny on the case to keep him on the straight and narrow! Years ago when I smoked my Nicky would knock my cigs to some point I couldn't reach - all the time and scrunch up his face when I would light up!

Your rug looks great on my monitor!

    Take care of yourself too!

  8. Great news that things are going better for you both. Tell Zip I'm impressed that he is being a cooperative guy and sticking with the lifestyle changes.
Love the rug too. I have missed hooking the past few weeks. It is a great stress reducer.
    Thanks for the update.
    Hugs, Kim

  9. Sounds all good to me! Good idea to have the monitor for a day. There will be some very tough times with quitting smoking... but the key is to stay focused... it's gets a little easier each day! Love how your rug is hooking up!

  10. Hi Pat and Zip!
Zip, if you can beat that cigarette habit you will be my hero! It's been 36 yrs. since I quit cold turkey! Now I'm battling the sugar habit! Time will tell who wins in the final round but we gotta keep punching! A day at a time!
Pat, your rug looks fantastic on my monitor! Love the colors and love the blue stars! The hooking is fabulous!
Keep at it dear friends! So proud of you both!!!!!
    Hugs!

  12. Good report! We all hope it continues. I do only decaf tea, coffee and soda and I even gave up chocolate after my scare with atrial fibrillation but I've since reclaimed the chocolate with no ill effects so far! It was easier for me to give up smoking than chocolate, but that was when I was much younger!!!!!!

  15. Dear Pat and Zip, I'm so glad that you are both scoring better in your health habits. Quitting smoking isn't for sissy, let me tell you. I know... It's just darn HARD but Zip has shown that he love having you around enough to quit smoking.

To me it's a huge step in the right direction. The body is an amazing machine that can repair itself if given a chance. Good luck to both of you in your new life choices. You will soon feel much better. I'm proud of you both. Hugs JB

  16. Dear Pat and family,

I am sorry to learn that there have been health issues with hubby. Having undergone cancer and open heart triple-by pass, I have taken life a little more serious, even though I had been eating relatively healthy before.

There is nothing more important then to stop smoking. Back in my thirties I used to smoke a pipe now and then, drank to much soda, which by the way causes prostate issues.

Knowing that he has stopped smoking is very good but now both of you need to look at the kinds of foods you eat. The more you eat raw, the better.

ALso switch from coffee to green tea. There are many different kinds, personally I like Genmaicha which is with roasted rice.

Enough of preaching, just remember to also enjoy life!

    Warmest regards,
    Miss Kitty and Egmont

  17. Hi Pat! I'm sorry I missed this post, sometimes I don't have the chance to visit on the weekends. I am so glad to hear that Zip is feeling a little better and that his heart is not skipping so much. Remember baby steps; small changes and slowly help one stick to the plan, but sounds like he is determined which is great :-)

  18. Hi Pat, I hope your husband is recovering nicely. I gave up caffeine years ago...the only downside is that I'm still constantly tired! LOL!

I love the rug. It's very cute. I wish you lived closer so you could teach me!
