I Love That Cat

All weekend while I was busy sewing, the little guys were runnin wild.  The came flying across the sewing table sending my basket of notions onto the floor and scattering bobbins, pins, screwdriver etc. all over the floor.  They danced on the countertops, dug in the trash can and made general pests of themselves.  Mommy wasn't paying enough attention to them!

Tipper was off doing her best to avoid it all by taking a prolonged nap.

But Deiter, my darling boy, was right there laying quietly behind the sewing machine.  He was not in the way but was close enough so that I could reach out and pet him and we could make eye contact and talk to each other.  He was a calm place in a mess of stress and confusion.  He is a wonderful cat!  A gentle and intelligent giant who is a joy to live with.  (Almost 20 lbs.!)  I love all my cats, and am thankful every day for the gift of their presence.  But Deiter is a special personality.

I had my camera right there on the sewing table.  Every once in a while I would stop, take a sip of coffee and snap a picture of Deiter.

So this is for you, Deiter.  In appreciation.

How do I love thee, let me count the ways.....

I love those three perfectly round black spots.

The big furry paw that reaches out to touch me.

The way you lay quietly nearby whlie I'm working.

Your ears like the perfect inside of a conch shell.

The way you neatly tuck your paws.

That soft plush fur on your forehead.

The cute pink nose.

These big golden eyes.

I love everything about you, Deiter.

I LOVE THAT CAT!!!

  4. Oh Pat, you have my eyes all a watering, what a beautiful post. I feel exactly how you do about cats, they are my life.
My old Fred who passed on just this year was a big boy, 9 1/2 kg, we were always getting told off by the vet, but as he never moved much there wasn't much hope of him losing weight. a bit like his human Mum.

As for those little rascals, I remember our 4 when they were small, the chaos they caused in every room.

  6. Hi Pat,
We all love the regal and beautiful Dieter. Some cats, like some dogs, just have an "it" factor that is beyond compare. Love this post.

  7. Greetings Pat,

So nice to meet charming Dieter. The pictures your mum took of you are perfect in every way.

I guess you must be an older feline, cus we know how to relax when all that excitement is going on all around us.

    Wishing you a wonderful weekend,
    Miss Kitty and Egmont
